About the author

Carol Radsprecher was born and still resides in Brooklyn, New York (her studio is in Manhattan). She received her MFA in painting from Hunter College in 1988. Her work has appeared in several solo exhibits: in May 2012 in Metropolitan Community College’s Next Gallery; in 2006 at Pierro Gallery at South Orange, South Orange, NJ; in 2002 at the Garrison Art Center, Garrison, NY; in 2001 at Thompson Park Art Exhibition Series. She has exhibited in many group shows; among them are Online Gallery D-Art 2012 - 16th International Conference Information Visualisation (July 10-13, 2012) at LIRMM CNRS Univ. Montpellier France; 9th International Conference Computer Graphics, Imaging and Visualisation (July 24-27, 2012) at National Chiao Tung University, Hsinchu Taiwan; 2011 New Directions in Drawing, projected during a drawing symposium at Emily Carr University of Art and Design, in Vancouver, BC, Canada. In 2009 she showed eleven of her ink-and-acrylic paintings on Claybord in a ten-artist show titled Lineweight at Truman State University Gallery; in 2008, her work was in a six-artist exhibit titled Akin To at Gallery Korea, Korean Cultural Service NY; in 2001 her work was part of an eight-artist exhibit, Figure/Disfigure, at the University of Rhode Island Galleries, Kingston, RI; in Aspects of Abstraction (a six-artist exhibit) at the Kirkland Art Center in Clinton, NY. She has received several awards for her work and has paintings in many private collections. Reproductions of her work have appeared in literary and art publications (print or online). A restless artist, Carol has explored both representational and abstract ways of painting and digital printmaking (her present work combines both elements).
