About the author

Washington DC artist, Kay Jackson has exhibited internationally since receiving her MFA in 1984 from George Washington University where she studied with Clarice Smith, William Woodward and Frank Wright. Her mediums include oil on canvas, watercolor on paper and traditional gilding on gessoed wood that relies on the same techniques used in ancient Egypt and Trecento Italian panel painting. Jackson’s work is in the permanent collections of the The Corcoran Gallery of Art, the National Academy of Sciences, the Archdiocese of Chicago and five American Embassies. In 1997 she was commissioned by President and Mrs. Clinton to paint a nocturne of the White House for their official Holiday Card. Next year, 2010, Jackson will have her fifth exhibit with Addison/Ripley Fine Art located in Washington, DC, otherwise her work can be viewed on the web at www.kayjacksonart.com
