Dawn Whitmore was born in Baltimore, MD in 1983. Since receiving as a gift her first 110 film camera at age 8, she has always looked for ways to photographically capture her understanding of the world around her.

Dawn's work explores the who, why and how questions surrounding pockets of our world with photographic imagery. Much of her work is based on exploring niche areas of society by using photography to peel away or add multiple layers and angles.

Dawn graduated with honors from the Corcoran School of Art + Design in Washington, DC in 2005. She has since exhibited in Lyon, France, London, England, New York City, San Diego CA, Washington DC and Annapolis MD.
