Chris Young

Chris Young’s large format photography captures the wildland/urban interface while interrogating the familiar space of Western landscape photography. His images exploit photography’s unique dialectic between documentary evidence and pictorial representation to consider concepts of time and change, history and story, and film and painting in a post-wilderness landscape. Young is based in Los Angeles. He received his MFA from Columbia University and a BA in studio art and geology from Oberlin College. His work has been featured in exhibitions and screenings nationally and internationally.
