Robert Neffson

Robert Neffson, a native New Yorker, received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Boston University School of Fine Arts, working with such instructors and fellow painters as Philip Guston.
Since his formative years as a student at New York City's Art Students' League and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine, he has received numerous scholarships and awards recognizing his work, including a Fulbright-Hayes Fellowship for painting in Rome, Italy.
In addition to his painting, Neffson has also held professorships in such institutions as the Pratt Institute and Pennsylvania State University.
Through his work--featured most recently in "PHOTOREALISM in the Digital Age" by Louis K. Meisel--Neffson seeks to present his own view of cityscapes and interiors from around the world. Although each stroke is painted by hand, he utilizes computer technology to combine and reconfigure thousands of photographic images into his own singular vision. These paintings, which are part of many notable private collections, have also been featured in exhibitions at such venues as Madrid's El Museo de arte Thyssen-Bornemisza and Youngstown, Ohio's Butler Institute of American Art.
Robert Neffson currently resides in New York City and is represented there by the Louis K. Meisel and Bernarducci.Meisel Galleries, where he continues to be featured in both individual and group shows.
