Greg McLemore

Greg McLemore is an artist and art educator. He has been living in the Baltimore area for about 17 years now. His art explores the tragic, mysterious, and comical aspects of life. The paintings ranges from detailed urban landscapes to fantastical narratives. Recent work includes ink drawings that have been made into an artist’s book, On the Stoop; a New Exploration of City Living, as well as a series of fantastical oil paintings based on his experiences in Japan.
Greg earned an MFA at The University of Arizona in 2003 and a BFA at The University of North Carolina Asheville in 1999. He exhibits his work both regionally and nationally. Most recently he was published in New American Paintings, South (issue 142). Greg was a semifinalist for the 2016 Sondheim Prize and was awarded Individual Artist Grants in Painting by the MSAC in 2016 and 2019. He is an Adjunct III Professor of Art at Towson University.
