Jon Witzky is an artist and educator living in Savannah, Georgia. He received his BFA from Ohio State University and his MFA from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He currently teaches painting and printmaking at Georgia Southern University
Jon Witzky has been in exhibitions nationally and internationally. His paintings are large, process based, oils on canvas, that appear as abstracted, cinematic visions of the landscape of the South. The work is of a singular vision but fits into the same category as artists such as Peter Doig, Jules de Balincourt and Hernan Bas.
