Artist Statement
Layers of history and time are a constant in the work of Marjorie Guyon. To build her compositions, she applies marble dust and glazed pigment earth from all over the world. Layer upon layer of these elements are applied above and below collaged images to create an archeology of the soul. The image simultaneously emerges from and disappears into the visual poetry of an ancient surface.
