Lorraine Whitt

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Lorraine Whitt studied 2 dimensional art and printmaking at California State University, Sacramento and spent some time abroad studying European art history and architecture. She is fascinated by the lines and shapes found in Greek and Roman art and archaeology. She creates paintings that combine the archaic with contemporary images and colors. Lorraine creates unique expressions built from ordinary images and often incorporates background patterns and symbols that are organic and abstract. Her paintings have layers and textures that flow into bold colors with simple yet strong lines. The artist uses a variety of media including colored pencils, watercolor crayons, acrylic and pastels.

Her paintings have been exhibited in California and Georgia.

Lorraine currently resides and works in Arizona.
