About the author

Biographical Sketch: After a career in banking, marketing and consulting I moved to Key Largo in August 2009 to pursue my passion for underwater photography. I have the priviledge of being mentored by one of the most widely published underwater photographers in the world, Stephen Frink. I am dedicated to developing photography as a new career. As a resident of the Florida Keys, I am aware of the fragility of the reef ecosystem and have the opportunity to work with the Coral Restoration Foundation (CRF) as a volunteer photographer. CRF is in a critical growth phase and has the objective of expanding its operations internationally. My skill set fits the tasks and aligns with the staffing needs of CRF. To this end, I am prepared to commit the appropriate time to support the CRF cause. In January 2011 I started writing the scuba diving column, 'DIVE TIME' for the local weekly newspaper.   Background: Certified diver since 1986 1989 Nikon School of Underwater Photography (with Stephen Frink) 2009 Digital Immersion (with Stephen Frink) 2010 Digital Masters (with Stephen Frink) Winner, 1989 Beneath the Seas photo contest (Macro category) Winner, 2010 John Pennekamp 50th Anniversary Photo Contest Volunteer work: Coral Restoration Foundation Reef Ministries Marine Mammal Conservancy Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary Virginia Marine Science Museum Publications: Rodale's Scuba Diving Scuba Talk; A Guide to Underwater Communication Diver Magazine (Canada) Athletix Magazine Nautilus Journal Underwater USA Other credits: National Aquarium, Washington, DC Virginia Marine Science Museum Nauticus, the National Maritime Center Ocean Encounters SEAS Scuba Conference Travel experience: Africa/Botswana & Zambia Bahamas Bonaire, N.A.
