About the author

Annemarie Waugh is a British born, American artist who lives and works in New York. Waugh moved to NYC in 1992 after receiving a BA from Central Saint Martins in London. In New York she studied studio art at New York University. Waugh makes abstract and figurative paintings, prints and photographs. Her images are inspired by fiction, nature, the everyday and the human mind. Her work was part of Christie's and the Royal College of Art 'Painters of 91' group show. She is a recipient a Prince's Trust Grant. In London her work was exhibited at Paul Smith, Floral Street Galleries, Freud's and Hyper Hyper. She also painted original art for all The Warehouse stores throughout the United Kingdom. She is a recipient of two Promax/BDA gold awards. Group exhibitions include New York University, The Commons gallery, Smithtown Arts Council, The Art League of Long Island, East End Arts, Front Street Galleries, The Living Gallery and Gallery North. Her work was featured at the Richmond Billboard Art Project. She has received commissions from Doctors Without Borders, Radical Media, Showtime, Stony Brook University Department of Neuroscience & Behavior, The Boston Globe, The LA Times, The Lawyers of Lincoln in the fields, The New York Times, VH1 and The World Financial Center. In the spring of 2013 she had her first solo show 'Spring notes' at The Setauket Neighborhood House.
