My paintings explore the philosophical paradox of omnipotence and free will. Is it possible to exercise control by allowing other factors to act independently? In all my work I aim to achieve a goal by relinquishing control through spattered paint, scattered objects, random occurrences. After successive layerings, the primary colors mix by themselves and the painting emerges with a will of its own.

You may view artists’ submissions by using any field to search the criteria. Please note, artists who have signed up to be included in the registry are not yet participating Art in Embassies artists in an exhibition. The registry acts as a forum for exposure to our internal curators, for possible inclusion in a show. A registry artist will not have an artist card in the main Art in Embassies website section (art.state.gov/artists) until they are included in an exhibition, nor are they searchable in the main search function of the website (art.state.gov).
