Kathleen Spain

Kathleen Simpson Spain is a painter living in Portland, Oregon. She is originally from Santa Cruz, California. Spain attended college in Portland and loved it, so stayed. She uses washy acrylic paint to create abstract landscapes, portraits and detailed renderings of plants. Her work is full of light, movement, detail and the overarching theme of life on earth.

Please note, artists who have signed up to be included in the registry are not yet participating Art in Embassies artists in an exhibition. The registry acts as a forum for exposure to our internal curators, for possible inclusion in a show. A registry artist will not have an artist card in the main Art in Embassies website section (art.state.gov/artists) until they are included in an exhibition, nor are they searchable in the main search function of the website (art.state.gov).
