Ashley Garrett was born in Dover, New Jersey and raised in Bangor, Pennsylvania. Garrett’s work has been exhibited at Apex Art, Brooklyn Art Space, Bowery Gallery, and the Newark Arts Council. She has been included in group exhibitions curated by Jed Perl and Jeanne Siegel. Garrett also works in video and her work has been screened as an official selection in the South Side Film Festival in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She received her BFA as a Chairman scholar from the School of Visual Arts and also studied at Moravian College in Pennsylvania and Escola Superior de Disseny i Art (Llotja) in Barcelona, Spain. She currently lives and works in New York City.
