Originally from Philadelphia, I came to Baltimore for graduate work at the Maryland Institute College of Art in 1984 receiving my MFA degree in 1986. I began teaching as Affiliate Faculty at Loyola University MD in 1987 and from 2002 to 2008 became full time faculty teaching and directing the Julio Fine Arts Gallery retiring in 2014.

In 2013, I received a Franz And Virginia Bader Fund award as well as a MD State Arts council award. I have previously received MD State Arts Council awards in 2002, 1996 and 1995.
