Stanley Greenberg is a photographer and the author of Olmsted trees, due out in 2022 His is also the author of the Springs and Wells, Manhattan and the Bronx, a rephotographic survey of work done by James Reuel Smith around 1900. He other books are CODEX New York, Invisible New York: The Hidden Infrastructure of the City, Waterworks: A Photographic Journey Through New York’s Hidden Water System, Under Construction and Time Machines. Greenberg’s photographs are in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York Public Library, Yale University Art Gallery, and the Los Angeles County Museum, among others. He has had one-person exhibitions at the Art Institute of Chicago and the MIT Museum. Greenberg received a fellowship from the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation in 2005, and has also received grants from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York Foundation for the Arts, and the New York State Council on the Arts. Greenberg lives in Brooklyn, New York.
