I am a colorist and abstractionist. My muse is the southwest desert and nature in general. I create colorful and joyful paintings as well as textiles and mosaics. My work is full of life and has been called juicy and flamboyant. Much is full of texture and utilizes oil paint, oil sticks and pastels. Painting is a conversation for me with my canvas or substrate. As the image develops we communicate back and; forth to build layers of color, light and shadow. The end result is an image bursting with joy and positive energy.
