Jerry Lynn was born in Memphis TN in 1975. He was educated at the University of Memphis and the Memphis college of Art. The subject of his paintings are often drawn from his upbringing in the rural south. African Americans in dreamlike settings are descriptors of his art practice. He often combines airbrush and graffiti styled marks in his paintings, a connection to hip hop culture.
