Jon Woodhams is an artist/photographer whose work has sold in New Zealand, Ireland, England, Germany, Canada, and across the United States. Jon grew up in a small central-Michigan town, in the shadow of the auto plants of Lansing and the cereal factories of Battle Creek. He studied the fine arts at a private Chicago-area college and lived in Colorado Springs and Brooklyn before coming to Memphis in 2012. He is a member of Artists’ Link, Memphis/Germantown Art League, and Bartlett Art Association, and a former member of Memphis Camera Club. When not shooting pictures or creating art, he is a freelance book editor working with several publishers.

Artist Statement: I don't know what exactly it is about abstract art that appeals to me so much. As an artist, I love that I am creating something "ex nihilo," or from nothing. I love the freedom of combining shapes, movement, colors into something beautiful or intriguing that comes purely from my imagination. If someone asks me what medium my piece is, I feel I have done my job, giving my art an organic authenticity and warmth. My style varies with my current inspiration or technique, but there are common elements that unite all of my works. I am particularly drawn to the unique symmetry of the square format for my work.

I also love vintage things (especially old cars, old phones and radios, and old cameras), so my photography tends to focus on things like that, though I also shoot macros and other types of photography. See my website to view my photographic work.

Please note that all works are available in sizes up to 48 x XX-inch dimension, and special arrangements can likely be made for larger sizes yet (please ask). Available on various substrates also (canvas, archival paper, watercolor paper, framed or unframed, as well as metal and acrylic,)
