Ortiz-Naretto’s oils are best described as a rich profusion of impasto. The painting-knife strokes combine mainly analogous colors directly on the canvas. Occasionally, complementary colors enhance bulky areas within the painting. The interest for detailed drawings gives an ordered cohesion to the surface. The main interests of the artist are Fautrier's and Dubuffet’s technique and old master drawings.

Ortiz-Naretto was born in Rancagua, Chile. She received the core of her education in Argentina; there, she earned a BA in Art History and studied drawing and painting. Later, in the United States, she earned a BA in Philosophy from Rutgers University.
