Richard Poe attended the University of Houston and the University of Texas, obtaining an art degree with an emphasis in ceramics and printmaking. His art has been exhibited in cafes and galleries in the Austin area, including most recently Vista Brewing Local Artist Showcase, Bent Tree Gallery, the Greater Denton Art Center Meadows Gallery and Art for the People Gallery. His photo assemblage Treelalia (Sapling Dream) was selected as a finalist for the 2023 Sony World Photography Awards, the only finalist in the Open/Creative category from North America.
