Meeting Roger Winter on the street you think inventor, creator, talkative, and witty. This is not just a man who paints on canvas, but a living artistic movement. He speaks with a passion where your attention and those around you are drawn in. The energy is powerful and yet childlike, always creating. To pull something from the mind of this man would be in reference “Dipping your own brush into the Paint!”
For more than four decades American artist Roger Winter has been producing art in one form or another. His vast array of sales venues starting in high school with head shops and continuing to art shows and word of mouth. Selling everything he made with little to no time to venture into galleries for the sale was always imminent.
In the early 8o’s Alexander Brest befriended Roger Winter and had a huge impact on his vision of Art and encouraged him to put his works in larger venues. This lead to a show at the Museum of Science and History Jacksonville Florida which brought on 100’s of contracts locally. Remembering a quote from his father “that while it’s nice to have high priced works don’t disregard the nickel and dime ideas” this lead to an extensive line of jewelry which sold to every pet store in Jacksonville Fl. and ending up going nationally.

The paintings on display on the second and third floor Rotunda are the works of local artist Roger Winter. “He’s done a lot of murals around town, mostly in people’s homes. He’s multi faceted. He does writing, and sculpture – I can’t think of anything he can’t do.”

Beverly Miller, “Undefinable Artist's Work Spans Many Mediums,”
“Roger Winter produces such a variety of artistic creations that any attempt to categorize his art defies definition!” Winter's portfolio shows that he has done art work as well as refinishing work for some of the most recognizable names on Amelia Island, as well as for private clients." Much of his work can be seen in the halls and exteriors of beautiful buildings throughout the area, including Amelia Island Plantation.”
