Yuliya Alagir

Yuliya Alagir, known professionally as Alagir, was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
From an early age, Alagir demonstrated innate artistic talent. She is a self-taught artist whose skills were developed by visiting art galleries and using those experiences to create original techniques and perspectives. Alagir’s creations reflect a broad variety of artistic media, including oils and acrylics on canvas, watercolor, murals, frescoes, jewelry-making and three-dimensional pieces. In 2019, Alagir moved to Calgary, Alberta, Canada where she currently resides.

Alagir has been recognized in the fields of Contemporary Art. Conceptual Symbolism. Her palette is innovative and complex. She layers many colors to create a three-dimensional effect, and her paintings present themselves with a different color scheme under different lighting conditions.

In 1997, Alagir came to prominence largely as the result of her collection entitled Mystery of the Sun. Mystery then inspired such future collections as ProtoArt, The Temple of the Sun, Altar of Eternity, The Priestess of the Sun, The Lost Civilizations, Astrological Ages of the World, Accessories of the People of the Sun and Vessels of Life. Since 2004, Alagir is rated an Established Professional Artist in United Art Rating.

Alagir’s artworks have been shown at exhibitions in the United States, including The Portal to Dreams at Agora Gallery in New York City. Her art is found in public galleries and private collections in Canada, Russia, Australia, Italy, Israel, France, the US, Uzbekistan and Yugoslavia. Alagir is a Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, a Member of the Art Union of the Artists at the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan.

In addition to original artwork, Alagir offers custom wall murals, art jewelry and art installations. Her pieces are sold directly and through many interior designers.
