Domenica Brockman

Domenica Brockman is a landscape painter from the Fingerlakes region of New York State. A United States citizen, she grew up living in various countries in Africa before returning to the US to study art at Cornell University, in Ithaca, NY. After college, she lived in Port Au Prince, Haiti, New York City, and Prague, Czech Republic, where she taught and studied art. In 2002, she moved back to Ithaca, NY with her family. In Ithaca, Domenica and her husband, Justin Hjortshoj opened a clothing boutique, and designed a clothing line, which was sold in shops around the world. Raising a family and running a business took over for a few years, but in 2014, inspired by the local landscape, she began to paint again. In the past three years, Domenica has been in many solo and group shows, and her work is in numerous private collections around the world.
