Frans Horbach

I am a Dutch artist based in Amsterdam.
When I was 17 years of age I set out on an adventurous journey, working on a cargo ship with destination South America. I later worked on a passenger ship and visited New York, a fascinating city that made a great impression on me. Two years later I emigrated to the US, specifically to San Francisco, California. There are many stories to tell, journeys to Alaska, to native Indian reservations and Mexico. Eventually I was admitted to the University of California in Berkeley where I studied Architecture and Environmental Design. After graduation I travelled again to Mexico where I found a culture where art related to the common reservoir of physical and metaphysical knowledge, a source of inspiration which started me on the path of art. Since those formative years I developed as an artist, living and working in different places, different countries, absorbing the new, reflecting on fundamental realities. I lived in Peru, in India, in Spain, and finally I settled more permanently in Holland. I have had exhibitions in various places, in San Francisco, New York, Paris, Athens, Amsterdam.
So these are only some biographical notes.
