Kate Sikorski

Kate Sikorski is an American Artist born in 1983. She grew up in Tustin, CA, where sports figured strongly
in her life. She attended the University of CA, Santa Barbara and the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where she won a creative grant to organize and run a free surf camp for women of color in Durban, South Africa. After college she worked for a short time on a commune as an organic permaculture farmer in Kauai before going to work for Greenpeace on a ship in Alaska and in their warehouses in San Francisco and Maryland. Following completion of her MFA in drawing and painting from CA State University, Long Beach, Kate was funded by a KickStarter grant to do series of mixed media drawings featuring southern California Muslim American women to whom she gave free surf lessons.
