Maggie Evans

Maggie Evans is an artist based in Savannah, Georgia. Her current paintings use repetition and uniformity to explore the personal, yet universal human struggle between the search for individuality and the need to belong.
She has shown her work in fifteen solo exhibits, over fifty group shows and has won a number of awards, including the grand prize from Jonathan Ferrara Gallery’s 2019 No Dead Artists Exhibit (New Orleans, LA) and two category awards at ArtFields (Lake City, SC). Residencies include the Vermont Studio Center and the Academy of Art in Hangzhou, China. Visiting artist lectures include Indiana-Purdue University and University of Texas, Dallas and publications/reviews include New American Paintings and The Washington Post. In addition to her work as an artist Maggie performs regularly as a professional jazz singer and bassist and is a Professor of Foundations Studies at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
