JuanCarlos rLora

JuanCarlos rLora is an accomplished Dominican-American conceptual artist, painter, and sculptor known for his exhibitions both nationally and internationally. His artistic creations often convey surreal narratives, philosophical concepts, and scientific theories. Born in 1978, he was mostly raised in New York and split his time between NY, Miami and Santo Domingo. JuanCarlos' passion for art began at a very young age, starting art lessons at a tender age of three. As he progressed in his artistic journey, he received guidance from influential figures in the art world, such as Dominican Master Painter Candido Bido and Turkish Painter Aquiles Azar.

His professional art career began in 2010 with MoMA P.S.1 programming. Prior to that, he mainly focused on studio shows and various projects in New York for approximately five years. During this time, he and his manager started an animal rescue initiative using the funds from his art sales to support the cause. In 2016, he moved to South Florida to continue his work in helping animals and expending his brand. His first Miami exhibit was at the Aqua Miami Beach Art Fair that same year. The following year, he gained recognition as a top-selling solo artist at Spectrum/RedDot Art Fairs and became known for introducing the innovative #AbstractPhotoReality concept, which combines realism with abstraction in the skies, representing pollution, created by the artist in 2015 and debuting at the same fair. Starting in 2018, the city of Miami (Downtown) granted him the use of a section of the Brickell River Walk Trail Park for a yearly Solo Sculpture Exhibition held during Miami Art Week.

Besides solo and group shows at ArtToSaveLives Contemporary, he regularly hosts studio visits/exhibitions at his studio, as well as works on various projects. For JuanCarlos art serves as a means of storytelling, and he uses different artistic styles to convey his narratives, resulting in diverse artwork in each series. However, all of his works revolve around a common theme – the conservation of our home, Earth. This theme is part of his Concept Art Story called 'Flor,' which spans over 15 years; encompassing nine various painting series and several sculpture series. His ability to use various styles and techniques to convey meaningful narratives sets him apart as a visionary conceptual artist, painter, and sculptor.

Currently, JuanCarlos divides his time between New York and Miami, where he continues to create and showcase his art, while helping animals in need.
