Linda Schmidt

Linda Kamille Schmidt is originally from Kansas. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. Her paintings and fabric work evolve intuitively as activity and events that surround her are interpreted through past experiences, family history, and universal truths. Transparent layers provide a sense of mystery, hinting at the unknown. Shapes and lines often reside within – some clearly visible, others more obscured.
Schmidt received an MA in drawing and an MFA in painting from the University of Iowa. She currently shows with Garvey Simon in New York, NY and San Anselmo, CA. Other exhibits have included Art Mora Gallery in Ridgefield Park, NJ, Seoul, South Korea and New York, Praxis Gallery (New York, NY), Denise Bibro Fine Art (New York, NY), Carroll and Sons Gallery (Boston, MA), Readywipe Gallery (Holyoke, MA), The Abrazo Interno Gallery at the Clemente (New York, NY), Curious Matter (Jersey City, NJ), Ann Street Gallery (Newburgh, NY), Art Helix Gallery (Brooklyn, NY), Chazou Gallery (Kamloops, British Columbia), Sideshow Gallery (Brooklyn, NY), NX2 (Berlin), Cheryl Hazen Gallery (New York, NY), State of the Arts Gallery (Hong Kong), AIR Gallery (New York, NY & Brooklyn, NY) and other venues. She is represented in collections around the world.
