Scot Sinclair

Scot Sinclair is a painter focused on capturing his experience of the contemporary condition.
His interests are the primordial properties of paint itself and the impact that historical and contemporary concepts of space have influenced the medium.
Sinclair received a MFA in Painting from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and his BFA with Honors in Painting from the Grays School of Art Aberdeen, Scotland.
Born in Johnstone, Scotland, he now lives in Lafayette Louisiana, where he works as an Associate Professor Painting in the Visual Arts department.
Upon leaving his undergraduate studies Scot was selected for the eight person Phillips International Auctioneers “Young Scottish Painters” Exhibition in Edinburgh, Scotland, since then he has exhibited in national and international juried exhibitions, and was one of four artists shortlisted for Aspect Painting Prize Winners Exhibition held at the Fleming Collection, London 2010.
