Sona Mirzaei

An artist of the modern world, building on an innate interest in art evident since she was a five years old telling her kindergarten teacher that she wanted to grow up to be a creative person. Taking advantage of a rather unorthodox upbringing, Sona indulged her interest in the arts and exposure to the LA art community led her to finding full expression through work, producing a series of collages, paintings, and designs that would presage her career to a full time contemporary artist.

She had an auspicious debut on the International art scene after two pieces from her collection were chosen as finalists for the 2009 London International Creative Competition. Since then Sona’s artwork has been showcased privately and publicly in exhibitions, hotels, museums, TV shows, charity auctions and galleries globally.
Her creations show us a world of color, texture, and form. Diversity defines her work and bridges her outlook on life with the creative expression of Sona’s many interests including music, literature, world history, pop culture, the entire canvas of art from classical forms to street art; as well as international politics, philosophy, film, fashion, and traveling, all of which serves to be an inspiration in her practice and existence.

Sona is a vibrant force in the International art community and has exhibited her works in various countries and cites around the world. She has a genuine artistic pure goal of continuing to evolve and create magic thorough the lens of the visual medium which she believes is an international language that transcended philosophical and metaphysical barriers.

Her work leaves the beholder with the ability to compare certain bodies of work to other paintings that may be pop, street, figurative, or mixed media art, but all within the same collection. As a self-taught artist, her passion and inspiration stemmed from other well know masters such as Matisse, Picasso, Rothko, Pollack, Richter, Klee, Dali, Basquiat, Klimt, Louise Bourgeois, Niki de Saint Phalle, Cezanne, Van Gogh, Monet, Johns, Rauschenberg, Frida Kahlo, and Beatrice Milhazes.

She believes that “art and color create the very energy that provokes emotion and reaction when people see artwork. It is a spiritual dimension that enraptures and embraces our souls. Without our imagination we have nothing – art creates for humans a stream of consciousness that gives meaning to life and love by giving us the ability to see beyond all boundaries. I truly believe art is the cure for what ails us at the end of the day!”

Creativity is contagious. Pass it on. Einstein ~
