Latoya Tidd

Latoya Tidd has always held a passion for art.
A past student of Holy Name Convent, Latoya pursued her studies in Art and languages both at CXC and A-levels.
She continued her studies at The University of The West-Indies where she holds a double major in Spanish and Lingustics.
Latoya has participated in several group exhibitions at the Art Society of Trinidad & Tobago for several years,
as well as displaying her pieces at Horizons Art Gallery on consignment.
In 2014 she held a joint exhibition entitled: Retrospect- A journey through the past, with her mother, Margot Tidd.
Additionally, in 2015, her work was also featured at a Gala Art Auction in Los Angeles at the Museum of Latin American Art ( MOLAA) and is currently represented by the Agora Art Gallery in New York.
Her work centres on seascapes, landscapes and portraits, where oils, acrylics and charcoal are her favourite media.
It is Latoya’s desire to use this God-given gift to highlight the beauty that surrounds us.
Conservation of the environment is therefore an element portrayed in most of her pieces. She believes in the use of realistic art as an emotional experience which connects man with his creator.
In this way, man’s love for self, mankind and the environment can be generated.
