I was born and raised in inner city Chicago, Bucktown as it is called. I had a wonderful public school education and later I went to a Catholic girl’s high school. I have had excellent experiences in the schools I attended. I began my art education at the University of Illinois Circle Campus breaking after two years going to work at an advertising agency for a number of years. I moved to Jackson Michigan and finished my last two years at U of M. I was graduated from U of M college of art and theatre in 1979. Afterwards I began work as costume supervisor in the Power Center for several years. Eventually I decided to do art fairs. I made large scale pastel portraits, hundreds as commissions. I created a decorative doll with invented costumes, unique and reminiscent of my theater days. And I did welded steel animal sculptures. I have been a multi-media artist all my life. The last 10 years I have dedicated myself to oil painting plein air. I have the opportunity to travel to paint; two years ago I went to Arles with a British group and last year to Cuba with Plein Air magazine and many local paint outs.
