STATEMENT

Our work is a way to explore human thought and imagination. We work primarily in sculpture, incorporating many elements of painting, drawing, photography, object design, and spatial design to create glimpses into a parallel space that exists between ourselves and our environments. We are very much inspired by the everyday, and we seek to bring light to the wondrous, the humorous, and the magical in human experience, from small to vast. Some of these investigations take the form of invented papier-mâché plant forms, geometric wooden wall hangings, and various forms of collaborative drawing. In our projects we tend to work with easily workable materials such as wood, stone, paper, and paint, facilitating experimentation with form, color, shape, and composition. Play is an important concept in our collaborative process — as a way of working together within a loosely structured arena, as a tool for shifting our momentary understanding of “reality”, and as an illumination of brightness and immediacy that speaks to the human spirit.
