Chris Dacre

Chris Dacre grew up in the rural Ohio landscape. With no future foreseen he took it upon himself to define his own, so he joined the Air Force directly out of high school. That move set him on a course he is still trying to navigate through today.

The life he has led has him continually moving around the US, and abroad. He has worked as a Security Police and Emergency Medical Technician in the Air Force, a Security Officer for the Tampa Port Authority, a waiter at fine dining restaurants in Birmingham, Alabama, and a professional Christmas light installer in Seattle.

Dacre received his BA in Graphic Design from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and an MFA in Printmaking at the University of Arizona in Tucson in 2006. He has taught art at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, Drury University in Springfield, MO and is currently teaching as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Printmaking at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
