Four generations of painters in Chelsea's family influence and inspire her.

The New England painter Frederick Nelson Atwood, whose "Battleship Maine" (1895) resides in the National Museum of the United States Navy in Washington D.C., was Chelsea’s great-great-grandfather. Her artistic instincts are naturally rooted in her heritage and she paints for the joyous engagement she feels with every canvas.

Chelsea holds a Master of International Studies from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Community and Environmental Design from the University of Washington. She lives in Wellesley, Massachusetts, with her family.
