i work with the cast off and what is considered the detritus of our society. creating something beautiful and interesting is my goal.
my stupas are built using cast off circular objects, brake rotors, jar lids,vinyl records, gears etc. the harmony of these pieces to making a whole is the goal.
the cast pieces are cast in molds from discarded packaging materials, i use plaster and recycled paper, again trying to find the beauty in the everyday overlooked item.
i teach assemblage and mixed media at the local college. helping someone find the joy and confidence to play with 'stuff' is the biggest kick.
