Leanne Fink

Leanne Fink is a fine artist from Hamilton, Virginia, USA who paints vibrant contemporary landscapes in oil and cold wax. She creates visually dynamic oil paintings that awaken the senses and move the spirit. Her art is expressive and representational. On one level, it delights viewers with strong shapes, a scintillating color palette and textural elements. And yet, in that same moment, it reaches through to the heart of the art lover and demands introspection.

Leanne draws inspiration from places far away, close to home, and from within. Exploring other cultures, countries, and climates fuels her passion to paint by providing imagery of cities, antiquities, land and sea. The pastoral surroundings of her Northern Virginia residence nourish her need for always having nature's beauty nearby. Expressing the lingering memories of the dreamscape quenches her thirst for imagery that is open to a more ambiguous interpretation.

Leanne's art is visual joy. It is sophisticated. The artist brings a masterful sense of color's therapeutic value to every composition. Her paintings seem to move with vibrational scintillation. Textural elements applied with palette knife energize and add satisfying complexity to the viewer's experience. Smooth, blended areas rest the mind's eye and encourage pausing for a moment of contemplation.

Fink states, "I call myself a landscape painter, but that only scratches the surface. I feel the emotion inspired by contemplative thought, harmonious sounds, poetic words, soft surroundings, laughter, tea and chocolate. It drives me to paint with a visual vocabulary of color and texture.

"Art is essential to human nature. Like music and mathematics, art possesses its own universal language that needs no verbal interpretation. Sharing my artistic vision can have a profound effect. Art is like a balm that can heal a spirit, change a viewpoint, showcase beauty and add a smile. I always choose imagery that uplifts my viewer and offers them an oasis to reflect and enjoy in their own unique way."

Leanne is represented by District Arts Gallery- Frederick, MD, Manhattan Arts International Artist Showcase Gallery- NYC, and Gallery 75 at The Torpedo Factory Art Center- Alexandria, VA.
