Esther Shaw

Born - (Esther M. Spezzano), and raised in Boston, Mass. Graduated from Mass. College of Art -1965, attended graduate classes at Univ. of Ariz., Univ. of CA. Worked as a commercial illustrator and art teacher from pre-school through all ages to community college and seniors, (Santa Ana Unified School System, Rancho Santiago Community College, Copper Mountain Community College). Have received many awards for paintings, most recently - 2nd place, at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, CA.; also among awards have been The DaVinci Paints; The Grumbacker Paints, Gold Medal Award; The Nova Color Award; and Honorable Mention at the Art Calendar National, 1997. Was selected for The Envisiong the Future Project, directed by Judy Chicago, in 2003-4, in the painting catagory; in which 4 large paintings were exhibited at the Pitzer Gallery, Claremont College, CA.
Have had numerous one-man exhibits at SCA Project Gallery,Pomona, CA; Gallery 57, Pomona, Ca; 29 Palms Gallery, 29 Palms, CA. Held a studio/gallery at the Santora Arts Building in Santa Ana, CA -1999-2002. Was owner/curator/exhibitor of The Spezzano Gallery in Long Beach, CA, 2009-10. Former president of Southern CA Artists (1999-2000), presently member of Morongo Basin Artists, CA.
