Gavin Gleeson

Gavin Gleeson (b. 1995) recently graduated from the Royal College of Art in London and previously received his Postbaccalaureate diploma from the Burren College of Art in Ireland.

He is a Kentucky native with parents hailing from Ireland, is an artist whose work thrives on improvisation. He explores serious topics drawn from his life experiences. He sees painting as a way of unfolding chronicles of time; with his experience and current realities combining to create a visual representation of a hybridized perception of the world. Guided by the materials and compositions he employs, each piece takes on a unique meaning and message. Drawing from his upbringing as a Catholic in Kentucky, with parents from Ireland, and a subsequent move to San Francisco to pursue a career in business before painting, he explores themes of fear and security through the process of pseudo-organization and isolation.
