Gina Novendstern

Gina Novendstern is an American sculptor whose work has been exhibited internationally in museums and galleries and can be found in both public and private collections. Her sculpture focuses on the strengths and weaknesses inherent in human beings and uses stone, steel and wood to enhance the voice of her bronze and resin figurative forms. The work encourages the examination of the social, political and spiritual world we inhabit. In 2008, a retrospective exhibit of Novendstern's sculpture, "Interior Vision-Exterior Reflection", was organized by the MACAY Museum of Contemporary Art in Merida, Mexico. The museum also produced a public television documentary about her at the same time. In 2010, Novendstern was one of three artists from the United States chosen for an international exhibit organized by the National Gallery of Fine Art in the Dominican Republic. More recently, in 2014, The Peter Gray Museum of Art in Mexico chose one of Novendstern's sculptures for its permanent collection. Novendstern works at her studio in New York City and her sculpture can be seen there, by appointment, or on the web at http://users.arczip.com/gnovendstern/ and www.facebook.com/GinaNovendstern
