Liz Guzman

Utilizing a roller, stencils and various printmaking techniques, I create isolated landscapes whose repeating and cliche'd symbols of tropics and girlhood fantasy compose an abstract narrative of personal identity. My father is an ex-political prisoner from Cuba and because of that I have always been very aware of this other landscape, one that was tragically possessed and sweet. My work invites you to a party celebrating bittersweet potential in a girlish kitsch dimension.
