Ibi Ibrahim

My name is Ibi Ibrahim; I am a photographer artist with Yemeni origins based in New York.

In my work, I explore the issues of sexuality and individuality in Muslim conservative societies. Most of my pieces circle around the challenges today's middle eastern youth face in their societies.

My work has been exhibited in different galleries on a local level, and abroad. I also won the GLAAD OUTauction best emerging artist in 2010.

I would be very honored to see my work on the walls of US embassies in other countries. I feel proud to be able to practice my artwork in the US with much freedom, and never fear for my life for being an artist who expresses his opinion freely.
