Robert Ford`

I am an abstract artist with over 18 years of experience, who creates colorful interwoven paintings. I grew up in suburbs if Richmond Virginia and attended and completed a degree in fine arts at Virginia Commonwealth University.

I'm influenced by Cubism, African art and Modern art. My style is a reaction against minimalism and conceptionalism that is so popular today. I am a throwback to the roots of abstract art with his own personal enhancements and identifies closely with the abstract representational movements.

I use vibrant colors and contrasts to make shapes seem to jump out at from the negative space on the canvas.

I have shown work in Science Museum of Virginia. I also had a solo show in Art Space and received award for best in show from Crossroad gallery.

Here are a few things that have influenced me:

Metaphysics
Star wars
Hip-hop music
Zen philosophy
The cosmos
Quantum science
Nature
Chess
Lots of reading and research
