Joe Wos

Joe Wos has been a professional cartoonist since the age of 14. For over 30 years his career path has taken as many twists and turns as one of his mazes. For 20 years he toured nationwide with his program Once Upon a Toon, combining storytelling and live cartoon illustration.
In 2002 Joe became the first visiting resident cartoonist at The Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, CA. He has returned to perform and lead workshops every year since.
In 2007 he founded the ToonSeum, a cartoon art museum in Pittsburgh, PA. He would serve as the executive director for 7 years before returning to focus on pursuing his art.

He continues to find unique ways to pursue his passion for cartooning. He illustrates live performances with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, exhibits his art in museums. His popular newspaper feature MazeToons, a unique hybrid of cartoon and puzzle, is distributed worldwide by Creators Syndicate.

Joe has been drawing mazes since age 7 and is regarded as a master maze maker. In 2012 he created the record setting world’s largest hand-drawn maze. Measuring at 140 square feet, it features over 100 different illustrations integrated into the maze itself. His work has been exhibited worldwide including solo exhibition in China, Singapore, and San Francisco.
