Jennifer Richards

Jennifer Richards is an oil painter in Southern California. Using old master oil painting techniques, modern pigments, and clean, uncomplicated compositions, Jennifer creates serene yet vibrant contemporary interpretations of the geology, culture, and landscapes of the special places she's lived and visited.

Jennifer earned a M.S. in Natural Resources Management from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and a B.A. in Geography from Mary Washington College. She worked as an environmental scientist before dedicating two years to formal art training so that she could apply her appreciation of “the uniqueness of places” towards more creative pursuits as a painter. Her work has been exhibited at the Museum of the Living Artist (San Diego, CA), the Rochester Contemporary Art Center (Rochester, NY), the Poway Center for the Performing Arts (Poway, CA), Encinitas City Hall (Encinitas, CA), the Art Museum of Eastern Idaho (Idaho Falls, ID), Del Mar Fairgrounds and Racetrack (Del Mar, CA), and in private galleries throughout the United States.
