Katherine Dube

Katherine grew up and went to school in Massachusetts where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. After graduation, she entered the scientific research filed, and later returning for advanced studies in both Education and Chemistry. Throughout her time as a research scientist, she explored working with ceramic sculpture, starting with vessels and familiar forms of nature, taken to their less logical conclusions. As a self-taught artist, she utilizes her background in mathematics and science to guide her designs.

After relocating to California, she transitioned from scientist to artist in 2011. Continuing a passion of the scientific process to bridge perspective in her artwork; her site-specific installations integrate a visual articulation; with each artwork revealing a unique observation of an ecosystem, natural event, or of mathematical origin. Integrating into the architecture, projects incorporating Mandelbrot fractal geometry, tidal research data, and cellular migration have been installed in various private and public commissions, including museum, gallery and invitational exhibitions.

In 2014, her artwork and interior design projects expanded to include her award winning flora/fauna large format photography.

Katherine is currently living and working in-between Contra Costa County, California and Bergen County, New Jersey.
