Mary Kay Stam

Painting since the age of 15, Mary Kay Stam addresses sociopolitical subject matter in her oil paintings and mixed media works. Subjects include environmental issues, brutality, injustice and economic strife. Utilizing representational and abstract lexicons, a series will often start as the former and break down into the latter — a process she finds works to regenerate ideas and perspectives. She is currently undertaking coursework toward a PhD in Depth psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute.
