Kevin Belford

Renowned artist Kevin Belford has illustrated, researched and authored the book, Devil At The Confluence. The Pre-War Blues of St. Louis, Missouri, (2009, Virginia Publishing) that uncovers the rich legacy of music in his home town of St. Louis, Missouri. Belford brings the music and legacy to life through stories culled from interviews and primary source research along with beautiful images and design.
The commercial work of the artist has included books such as "Game, Set, Match, Champion Arthur Ashe" Lee & Low Books, and "The Ballpark Book : A Journey Through the Fields of Baseball Magic", McGraw-Hill/The Sporting News, as well as national magazines, international advertising campaigns, CD covers, posters, and multimedia story telling.
Since graduating of the Kansas City Art Institute in 1981 his artwork has been utilized by Times-Mirror Publishing, Bantam Doubleday Dell Publishing, Service Employees Union, FOX Sports, Sony, The London News Review, and in St. Louis by the Riverfront Times, the St. Louis American, and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Some of his many projects have included work for the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center, Sony Music Corp., Anhueser-Busch, and Belford was Art Director for the syndicated animated television series Voltron for World Events Productions.
Numerous exhibits, group and solo at Mad Art gallery, Hoffman-LaChance, St. Louis Community Colleges, St. Louis Artists Guild, and The Sheldon. Belford's works are in a number of private collections throughout the United States and abroad.
Awards and Honors include a 1983 Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Best Book, Local Author 2010, The Riverfront Times and numerous awards from St. Louis and regional advertising and press awards.
