Ligel Lambert

Ligel Lambert is an American (Haitian born), New York-based interdisciplinary contemporary artist and educator. His practice now consists mainly of paintings, collages, printmaking, and mixed media works of art. Ligel’s work engages with an ongoing exploration of possibilities related to the interpretation of sounds and music. His work examines the relationship between sound and its visual representation. Sounds, color, rhythm, contrast, movement, and repetition inform the works of Ligel whose paintings explore the many possibilities created by dynamic compositions and juxtapositions of irregular annotations of musical notations.

Ligel has a Master of Fine Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Art from the Royal Melbourne Institute University, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia (2013); Masters in Education in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of West Florida, Pensacola, Florida (2021); In addition, he completed a Bachelors of Fine Art in Graphic Design (2011). Ligel is currently a doctoral student in the Art and Art Education program at Teachers College Graduate School of Education at Columbia University.
